Co-constructive tools

Co-constructive tools

Co-constructive tools are the applications that aid in the construction of knowledge through a shared understanding rather than simply working independently for constructing individual knowledge. Two or more members build up the construction of knowledge. Students use technology tools to share ideas, they co-edit, and also there is a team spirit whereby they work collaboratively.

Co-constructive tools are needed in the classroom as it allows students to work collaboratively and sharing of ideas. Moreover, it encourages a learner to be active and build a high-level cognitive process.

Co constructive tools are integrated into the classrooms through an ICT-based lesson planning (google docs), and the use of coggle.it to give a quick overview of the lesson plan, use of ‘Miro’ which is a free online collaborative tool, and also the use of google slides.

Coggle.it as a co-constructive tool

Following are the procedural steps that I have followed in the process of creating and then using coggle.it for generating an overview for ‘a visit to Taktsang’.

i.                    I open and registered at coggle.it through the option ‘login’.

ii.                   In the central box, I wrote the title, ‘visit Taktsang’.

iii.                I pressed the +buttons to add branches and name them.

iv.                When I right-clicked on the + symbols, I was access to more functions.

v.                  I used the image icon to insert relevant images.

vi.                When I was done creating the mind map, on the top right corner, I clicked on a downward arrow sign.

vii.              Then, chose ‘Download Image’.

viii.            The mapping was saved in an image form and the image is attached below.
