ICT as Situating tool
Situating tools are applications that situates a user in an environment where they are able to experience the context. This includes 3D computer simulated images, experiential learning environment, and simulation instructional games.
Situating tools are important in the classrooms so that students be able to understand and comprehend the the ideas of the real world by applying theories in real life (hands on experiences).
Following are the examples of situating tool and situating tools can be integrated in the classrooms using these tools:
1. GraphCalc
2. GeoGebra
3. Google Earth
4. Simulation games
6. Google Maps
We use situating tools in the classrooms to situate user in the environment, and for the user to be able to understand variables. Situating tools are also important so that a user is bale to communicate with other users. This also help enhance creativity skills.
